Ashley Peterson, LBSW
(she/her)
Clinical Intern
I am a clinical intern currently completing my master’s degree in social work. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and bring 4 years of experience in the helping profession, including advocacy and case management. During that time, I supported individuals experiencing homelessness as well as those involved in the justice system, including individuals who have committed sexual offenses. These experiences strengthened my commitment to meeting every person with dignity, compassion, and genuine understanding—no matter their background or circumstances.
I provide therapy to teens and adults under the supervision of a licensed clinician. My therapeutic style is characterized by a warm, steady presence and a collaborative approach where I draw from CBT and DBT-informed strategies, along with a systems approach, taking into account the many influences that shape a person’s life, including family dynamics, cultural identity, environment, and community supports. My work is grounded in both strengths-based and systems-oriented practice, allowing me to view each client within the full context of their lived experience.
I value curiosity, compassion, and meeting clients exactly where they are. I believe therapy should feel safe, empowering, and culturally respectful. My goal is to help individuals build meaningful coping skills, deepen their understanding of personal patterns, and move toward growth that feels authentic and sustainable.
